Digital Equipment Check Out and Return
Memorial Library is responsible for the circulation of video and still photography hardware. Memorial Library has digital still (floppy), digital still (downloadable) and mini-DV video cameras. Memorial Library staff are responsible for assuring that this equipment works as expected. Faculty and staff are asked to return equipment promptly and to notify Memorial Library circulation staff of any concerns upon return.
A minimum of 12 hours is required to perform a required maintenance and functionality check on each video set (camera and accessories) and on each still camera set. For this reason, each camera will be unavailable for circulating 12 hours following its return. To allow for proper maintenance, equipment may be checked out only during the following hours:
| Days | Times |
|---|---|
| Monday-Thursday | 8 a.m.-10 p.m. |
| Friday | 8a.m.-3:30 p.m. |
| Saturday | Equiptment does not circulate |
| Sunday | Noon-10 p.m. |
The Memorial Library Circulation and Production staffs are responsible for checking equiptment and handling maintenance and minor repairs. Bob Babcock, Classroom Media Services, is available for consultation and responsible for handling major repairs and for sending equipment out for repair.
Before checking out equipment, read our Media Loan Policy.
Equipment Training
Technical and functional training is strongly encouraged for anyone checking out a piece of equipment for the first stime. An "Optimal Use" checklist is being developed for distribution with all equipment. This checklist enables faculty, staff, and students to assess level of skill and make decisions pertaining to their training needs. Faculty and staff may make an appointment for training with Dawn Van Hall at ext. 4890 or vanhall@cortland.edu
