  • How do I contact the technology trainer? You can reach Tera Doty-Blance by:

  • Where is the technology trainer's office located?
  • Memorial Library, B113, on the other side of the Teaching Materials Center. Come in the main doors of the library, turn left at the circulation desk, go through the double doors, then go through the lab door on the right, turn left and her office in the first one along the far wall.

  • Where is the training center located?
  • At the back right corner of the Learning Commons in the Memorial Library. Come in through the main doors, take a right and go through the double doors into the Learning Commons. Take a left at the reference desk and the Training Center is the last door on the right.

  • For what hardware and software will trainings be offered?
  • Training will be provided for fully supported software and most limited supported software based on demand and availability. For a complete listing of campus supported software, go to http://www.cortland.edu/ir/support.asp#full

    Any hardware training will be in conjunction with related applications. (Example: Using a Scanner in conjunction with iPhoto)

  • What about other software? (Example: Open Office)
  • Sorry, the trainer can only provide training for campus supported software. But, Google is a great resource for solutions to software and hardware issues.

  • How do I sign up for workshops?
  • Check the Training Center Calendar for upcoming workshops, and then Email Sue Bush to reserve a spot in the class. Reservations should be made at least 2 weeks before the workshop.

  • Is the trainer available for individual training sessions?
  • The trainer is available for one-on-one trainings, based on availability. Contact Tera Doty-Blance at the phone/email listed above.

  • Who do I contact if I need help with WebCT?
  • Contact, Chris Widdall, Instructional Materials Design Specialist and SUNY Cortland's WebCT expert, at 753-4045

  • Will the trainer design my website/excel spreadsheet/database for me?
  • Sorry, no. While the trainer will help you learn how to use any of these applications, she can not do the production for you.

  • Who offers Microsoft Access support for the campus?
  • Consult with Laurie Klotz, Database Developer/Support Technologist, at 753-2500 or Mike Yonta, Database Developer at 753-2497, to see if a database is warranted and if it can be supported by them.

  • Who do I contact if I want someone to design a website for me?
  • Contact the Web Development and Design Specialist, Loren Leonard at 753-4045
